I took these pictures of my favorite flowers. The amaryllis is very exotic, and I call it the queen. It originated in South America's tropical regions and its large flower blooms easily. Virginia Bluebells have a soft and soothing color from light purplish pink to blue violet. Their delicate trumpet shape and intense color make them a great addition to any garden. Daffodils are a sure sign that spring is almost here. The daffodils is the symbol for hope.

More daffodils

More daffodils, ushering in the spring, along with Delphinium which is a stately, elegant perennial that is a standard in English cottage gardens and bloom in early summer. Foxglove are another cottage garden flower that attracts hummingbirds. They have a bell shape and a leopard print on the inside of the flower that make them a very interesting and wonderful addition. Impatiens are an ornamental annual flower that provides many colors and bloom all summer long.

Lobelia

Lobelia is an attractive annual hanging basket with small, violet-blue flowers and pale yellow on the inside. They add a delicate feel to any garden. The pansy is one of the most alluring of all flowers. They hold much charm with their little faces and like the early spring.

Patio Garden

The rest of these pictures are of my patio garden. I started with an area of cement, and slowly but surely built my gardens with Belgium block and soil, making attractive beds for my perennials. It just goes to show, if you love and need flowers around you in the summer, it can be done.
